NOTE TO FAMILIES:
At Sequoia, we expect our students to dress in a manner that exemplifies academic scholarship and is aligned to our school goal of preparing them for their future as a college student and professional. The expectation is for Sequoia students to always present themselves as academic scholars. The dress code policy is designed to support them in meeting this expectation. Sequoia’s mission is to guide students towards becoming good citizens and participants in the employment market and larger society; school is a student’s place of business. Part of this responsibility involves appropriate dress and personal appearance.

It is disruptive to the learning environment to have students coming in late. Also, when class begins at 8:30 and your child arrives late, he/she may miss valuable information and classwork.
Students receive two breaks during the school day - brunch and lunch. These breaks give the students time to go to their lockers, use the restroom, or get food. When these breaks are over, students are given five (5) minutes to be in their classroom or destination and ready to work. There is a one-minute warning bell before the final bell sounds.
Once the final bell has sounded, the halls are cleared of all students who 1) are not in class and 2) do not have a pass from a staff member. These students are taken to the office where they will:

A student may be referred for after-school detention for 1) being late for class or 2) not adhering to school or classroom rules. Any staff member may assign a student an after-school detention. After-school detentions are not served on the same day as they are given unless a guardian contact is made notifying the guardian of the detention.
Detention is held Mondays through Fridays from 3:45 - 4:45 p.m. Students need to report to the AVP office to make up their detention.
2020欧洲杯体育投注备用If a student misses a detention date, they can still make it up by coming after-school and notifying the staff member in charge.
Students who do not make up their detentions will be put in In-house Suspension for one day when they fail to serve detention within two weeks, or have several unserved detentions. During this time, they will be supervised by a staff member and they must bring work to do.
